Lauren joined the Office of Institutional Equity (OIE) as Title IX Program & Training Specialist in February 2019 and has served as Director of Education and Training since July 2022. Lauren designs and delivers many of OIE’s Title IX-related training and education sessions for students and employees. Lauren also works collaboratively with campus and community stakeholders to coordinate comprehensive, research-based prevention, intervention, and response efforts across the University system. In her role, Lauren also assists with programmatic efforts including coordinating strategic Title IX compliance efforts across all campuses, with a focus on the administration of campus climate surveys, assisting with setting the strategic direction of many of OIE’s working groups and committees, and engaging in community outreach.

From April 2013 to January 2019 Lauren served as the University’s Violence Against Women Prevention Program (VAWPP) Coordinator where she recruited, trained, and supervised the Women’s Center’s VAWPP Peer Facilitators, managed Greeks Against Sexual Assault (GASA) and Men’s Project, instructed the Rape Education & Awareness Seminar (WGSS 3271), provided immediate short-term crisis support and advocacy to students, staff, and faculty, and contributed to collaborative, multidisciplinary committee work to identify and fill gaps in training, education, and resources available to all campus constituents. Additionally she conceptualized and conducted a number of evaluation studies, collected and analyzed data, and utilized findings to measure program efficacy, inform enhancements, and add to existing gender-based violence prevention literature.

Prior to returning to her alma mater, where she received her BA in Human Development & Family Studies and Women’s Studies, she spent five years splitting her time between the Women & Gender Resource Action Center and Health Center at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. While at Trinity College, Lauren earned her Master’s of Arts in Public Policy & Law.
