Letissa Reid
Associate Vice President, Title IX Coordinator, ADA Coordinator
In August 2021, Letissa became UConn’s Associate Vice President for Institutional Equity (AVP), Title IX Coordinator and ADA Coordinator. She provides administrative and program leadership for the Office of Institutional Equity (OIE). OIE upholds the University’s commitment and responsibility to cultivate and maintain work and learning environments that are equitable and inclusive. Letissa assists with the development of sound innovative programs and initiatives that enhance and expand the University’s diversity, inclusion, climate and retention efforts. Prior to joining UConn, Letissa served as the Chief Administrator for Equal Opportunity Investigations at the University of Wisconsin–Madison (UW– Madison). In this role, Letissa was UW–Madison’s subject matter expert and principal complaint investigator for equal opportunity and equal access compliance. She facilitated consultations and conducted formal investigations involving alleged legally protected characteristic discrimination, harassment and retaliation. The population she assisted included UW– Madison faculty, staff, students, applicants for admission and employment, program participants as well as recipients of university services to include campus visitors. Letissa also practiced law at a Chicago based global law firm, as a regulatory environmental compliance attorney, where she represented Walmart, Inc., major utility companies as well as other natural gas and power enterprises.
Letissa holds a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor and is a law graduate of Indiana University School of Law at Bloomington.
