Deborah Redshaw

Budget Director, Title IX Program Specialist


Deborah joined UConn’s Office of Institutional Equity (OIE) in 2009 and is currently the Budget Director and Title IX Program Specialist. As the Budget Director, Deborah provides financial leadership and represents OIE to University offices and administration. She creates OIE’s annual budget for UConn and UConn Health, manages all financial matters, creates and monitors office policies and procedures, and provides guidance and oversight to OIE staff when performing work with financial impact.

In her role as Title IX Program Specialist, Deborah assists the Title IX Coordinator by working collaboratively with on and off-campus partners on sexual harassment and sexual violence prevention and education efforts to ensure UConn’s commitment to creating and maintaining a campus environment free from all forms of sexual violence, harassment, exploitation, and intimidation.

Previously, Deborah worked at UConn as the Budget Specialist for the Vice Provost of Multicultural and International Affairs (OMIA). She assisted in developing and monitoring OMIA unit budgets, including the centers and institutes within OMIA. She also spent nine years at the Connecticut State University System Office and was the Supervisor of the Operations Support Unit in the Information Technology (IT) Department. This team was responsible for budgeting, purchasing, accounting, and contract review within IT. In this role, she worked closely with the System’s finance department and each of the universities’ (Central Connecticut State University, Eastern Connecticut State University, Southern Connecticut State University and Western Connecticut State University) IT departments.
